Fan Advisory Board Vote to Open Thursday
Voting to elect Evertonians to Everton's inaugural Fan Advisory Board will begin tomorrow, 26th May.
The election will identify candidates to occupy the panel's four 'unreserved' seats and join the seven members who will be democratically nominated by supporter groups making up the Everton Stakeholder Steering Group (‘reserved' seats).
The application window for the Fan Advisory Board closed last week and, following that, a shortlisting process has identified 13 individuals who will be put forward for election.
The shortlisting panel which comprised independent members and Evertonians Ellen Loudon (Director of Social Justice and Cannon Chancellor at Diocese of Liverpool) and Chris Matheson (MP for Chester) as well as Bridget Bryson and Bren Connolly representing the ESSG and Catherine Wright (Head of Governance) on behalf of the Club.

Any Evertonian who had a supporter number prior to 1 May 2022 will be eligible to vote and will be asked to select their four preferred candidates. Each vote will carry equal weight and supporters will be able to allocate a maximum of one vote per candidate.
The election, which is being independently verified by UK Engage, will identify successful candidates to serve in the following roles:
- One Everton Shareholder, to initially serve three years;
- One Evertonian representing a minority group with a protected characteristic as defined in the Equality Act of 2010, to initially serve one year;
- One Evertonian with no further eligibility requirements to initially serve three years; and
- One Evertonian with no further eligibility requirements to initially serve one year.
Voting will close at 11.59pm on Thursday 9 June, with the four successful candidates to be confirmed on evertonfc.com once the verification process has been completed.
Once operational, Everton's Fan Advisory Board will be consulted on long-term strategic issues and will meet regularly with the Club's hierarchy, including members of the Board of Directors.
The ESSG and the Club would like to thank everyone who submitted an application and offer its congratulations to the those who have made the final shortlist.

Hope you are right. But it was very ambiguous the way it was presented if that was the case.

Ask a question of 20 fans and quite likely 20 varying opinions based on guesswork will arise as none are privy to Finch Farm or board room workings.
Smacks of political box ticking.

No idea what made me think of that.

For those who haven't followed the machinations of this august body, the minutes of their meetings are published every month on the Official Everton Website.
They're really interesting. Go on, see if you can find them.

This could be a real break from tradition, with some serious ass-kickers let loose.

I could be wrong. I hope I am. If this is going to happen, it has to be listened to. It has to be the supporters' influential body. Not a view. Not an input to a quarterly meeting. An influence.
Within reason obviously. I'm not for one minute suggesting I know how to run a football club but, if we are going to set up a fans advisory board, it has to be able to advise in a meaningful, yet realistic manner. It has to have teeth and influence. Of course we won't make decisions, but we should be able to influence the decision-makers' thought process at least and be taken seriously.
I know a Board of Directors and those who run a football club have a lot more to consider than the immediate weekly concerns and opinions of the masses but, if we're going to do this, do it with meaning, not as a token gesture. Not just sit there in the boardroom doing those overly sincere nods as if they're taking notice and concerned until the meeting is over and the pests are gone, then carry on as normal.
This is not like me. What is happening to me?

First, the election to the Fan Advisory Board is not election to the Everton Board – as recommended in the Fan Lead Review – ie, Board representation. This is clearing a whitewash.
Secondly, yesterday I viewed the video of progress at Bramley-Moore Dock in The Mail. The video was okay until. a crane was stacking concrete cubes on top of one another. The explanation given was that it was office space for an increase in Administration Staff... What the Fuck?
Hopefully I will get peace till mid-August this Summer. Bye again.
