Any Blues travelling to Hull, and if you have not been there before, be prepared for a very strict policing regime, whereupon Humberside Police manage all away coaches in and out of the city. I recall that the cops even escorted the coach I was on to the border with West Yorkshire.

As Mike(#1) says, however, let's focus on league form, the best we can hope for at Hull City is a temporary distraction from the mess we are in.

Hull. A key reminder of Marco Silva and another Moshiri mistake.

I'm in agreement; let's win the FA Cup this season.

It was a cold day in Hull when I gave up on Martinez. Bad memory. After last night though, no worries.

Let’s win the cup, let Benitez finally be the man, who can hopefully make those other c**ts, tear down the banner which makes us all shudder.

2022, is the Chinese year of the Tiger, so drawing Hull City, is a big enough omen for me!!

Won't the match take place before Chinese New Year, Tony?

Yes, we could have had a lot worse, as there are 3 Premiership v Premiership ties picked out of the hat, so 3 have to go out of them. I would normally say it doesn't matter who you get, you have to beat them, and that is still true, but last night's brilliant (second half) performance doesn't guarantee that all ills are cured. However, in the meantime I will hope that Lady Luck who never seems to be kind to us, has a change of heart this time around.

I see Hull City are around 19th in the Championship, so they are not exactly on fire, but nevertheless shouldn't be dismissed as an easy draw. It's the FA Cup, where many have made the mistake of thinking, these are minnows let's play a team of reserves, and of course anything can happen in a one-off game, and they have Home advantage.

100% agree Derek, play our strongest team available with last night's intensity from the off,get the game won as fast as possible then make your substitutions introducing our young lads into the fray, then just pray for an easy round four, lower league opponent again...rise & repeat till the Semi-final (if Lady Luck smiles down on us for a change),we need to win a trophy this season, only Winners get noticed in this game folks!.

According to Hull Live:
The game against Rafael Benitez’s Blues will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday January, 8 in front of the BBC cameras – it will also be shown on the iPlayer which will net the Tigers £85,000 in broadcast fees.

It's on BBC which saves us a 3 or 3.5 hour train journey to Hull Paragon change at Sheffield. Can't think why the Beeb have picked this game unless they expect an upset !

I just hope we play our strongest team and don't arse around like QPR in the League Cup.
