I know it includes quite a few youngsters but its does need thinning out quite a bit.
Ramires, Bolasie and Besic should be moved on as quickly as possible. Maybe use Bolasie in a deal for Zaha.

It feels like Besic has been here since the 60s

As part of a number of exciting changes to the Clubs player development structure, Unsworth has taken on an expanded role, becoming the Clubs new Director of Academy, whilst Baines re-joins the Club in a new coaching role just weeks after announcing his retirement as a player

Re Unsworth, does this mean he will no longer be managing the U23s?

As for Bainesy getting a place in the development team, that's great news for the club. Those kids will be getting first-class advice from someone who's intelligent, level-headed and not swayed by the stupid bubble that a lot of footballers live in these days (see Greenwood/Foden for obvious examples).

Eg. No. 3 Is the starting left back, No. 13 is the second choice left back, No. 23 the third choice left back, and so on.
Endorsements aside, this would help casual observers or neutrals to gain an insight and would let everyone know where they stand at the beginning of the season.

Imagine the handbags though, openly nominating and flagging players as first or second choice.

Actually don't have much to say. Basically the only numbers still available for potential incoming players are #3, #15 and #22, so hopefully we can shift a few out the door. It's pretty embarrassing seeing Sandro and Besic listed on there.

it actually means something. For Christs sake why has Seamus spent his career as no 23.

Kenny taking the Number 2 is interesting as it might suggest he is expected to be in the first team at least by end of the season. Nkounkou getting a number as low as 18 suggests to me he might be considered the back-up left-back.
Gibson not moving to a lower number like Gordon did suggests he may be loaned out.
