Did it cutover about two/three hours ago?

All of a sudden when I hit "comments' it just scrolls me to the black site summary banner at the bottom of the page.

I'm finding things difficult to read on my mobile. I don't know if I'm alone in that I access ToffeeWeb 99% of the time on my phone. I thought tablets were a dieing market?

I also was given the option to post a comment as part of the editorial team - which I took! Presumably just a glitch in the deployment.

I'm on a Samsung S10 using Chrome if it helps with any of the above.

Good work on linking with the Blue Room. My regular go to Everton podcast. And I'll certainly become a patron - I'd never noticed that option before.

Sorry but I think it's awful, a two inch strip on the left hand side of the screen.

Ernie

Same thing if I hit “comments” it takes me to the very bottom of the website and I have to scroll up for quite a while to find the actual comments.

Same issues as Ernie on mobile (redmi Google Chrome)

But well done Lyndon. ToffeeWeb is an important part of the 'Everton community' and being someone who hasn't Lived in Liverpool for 12+ years, is my main contact with fellow blues. You guys do a fantastic job and ToffeeWeb will forever be one of the first sites I enter whenever there is a free moment in the day. I've looked around other fan websites (usually when looking for fans views on opposition or a linked player) and ToffeeWeb web wins hands down in terms of usability, article quality and thus, quality of debate.

So more than happy to become a 'ToffeeWeb Patron' and help keep it alive.*

*Edit: when clicking on the 'sign up' link, it takes to a 'page not found'. So something to look into.

Hi Lyndon, I too have the issue with the comments section. But like the tweaks. I am trying to piece together a website and its slow progress. I now realise how hard it is to keep on top of all the changes/fixes etc, especially over so many devices. Thanks for all the hard work you do. Will look at Patron.

Comments link now working 👍

I guess I'll get used to the layout.

Thanks folks. I'm not sure what was going on with the Comments link but there is now a dedicated "landing" page for those so I've routed the link there for now.

Alan (2), you shouldn't be seeing a strip down the left (a black one, I assume?) so let me know if it keeps happening even after you've reloaded the page a few or times or tried to browse around the site a bit.

Ernie, Fran, when you say you're having trouble reading the site, can you be more specific? It shouldn't look all that different, particularly on a phone.

I have an old Samsung Galaxy test phone and it initially displayed strangely after cut things over earlier but it quickly righted itself. You can send screenshots to that email address above in the OP if it helps.

I just realised the Edit button on Comments is completely broken for the time being.

It looks good now, Lyndon. It was in very small text originally. Similar to the desktop layout but on my phone.

I don't think the formatting within comments are working either. Eg italics, which I just tried to put in italics.

Can't say I like the "Comments" button showing so much more of the posts than before, but I suppose I'll get used to it.

On the plus side, the button bar along the top now works on my 9.0 'phone, which it hasn't done for a couple of years!

I have 2 or 3 comments to each thread totalling 28 comments in all as opposed to 4 on the previous version to click on all under the heading ‘previously readers comments'. I used to use mobile version but I'm not sure of any difference it made.

I access TW via my iPhone. Very disconcerting this morning my favourite site after pornhub has been hacked.

It all looks fine on my old lap top and on my Samsung phone, and I must add that I like everything. Thanks for the hard graft and the hook-up with TBR is a good idea.

Lyndon,

when composing comments, the text modifiers are not working (bold, italic, underline).

For some months there's been no EDIT button after posting comments, for me at least. Could this be fixed?

Thanks.

Whatever helps you to run this website is fine by me, I haven't a clue how things work just muddle my way through, although I notice you are still employing that bleedin' wordchecker, he's not worth a carrot.

By the way I'm moving into the 21st. century and in the process of getting a bank card, who do I send my contribution to ToffeeWeb?

Thanks Lyndon (and any other contributors) for the terrific resource and forum for all things Everton. I'm sure I speak for others when I say it's an important and large part of our Evertonian lives.

Is TW full time these days?

All ok here in Ainsdale. Thanks for all your hard work, much much appreciated by a die hard blue who can't get the games these days.

Thanks for the update Lyndon, I thought something was afoot, unfortunately I have tried to recalibrate my computer with a sledge-hammer, thinking the problem was at my end!

Only joking by the way, keep this brilliant site going, not only does it keep us up on all things Everton, but allows us to communicate with fellow Blues across the World, long may it continue!

When largest largest letters facility is invoked some of the titles overlap in the mid section of the page as though some letters "grow" disproportionately.

Otherwise a really sharp improvement

Lyndon: No, it is a column about 1 or 2 words wide and seems to run the length. If I open a topic then all is as it was and if there is a black strip then it is on the right hand side (as you look at the screen) but before that just looks a jumble. Also I can't locate a "Home" button to return to the opening page so I can't seem to find "Rumour Mill" so I have to open any topic and hope I can find what I'm looking for as was.

Sorry to say, Lyndon, but at my 3 score and 10 I'm almost allergic to change and my daily couple of hours on ToffeeWeb may be drawing to a close. However, I shall just be out on the window ledge for five minutes thinking about it.

Nice work, Lyndon. Looks so clean and professional without the utter dross that so many web pages feel they have to carry. Worst is that awful clickbait, like the bottom of every Echo page.

Many will have noticed the site and especially the Live Forum locking up toward the end of the last two games. I can only assume this is overload in terms of traffic, but is there something else we can do to handle the peak demand?

Yes, Michael - stop Everton's scoring and winning spree!

I'm going to really go through the new site soon, but I just tapped into TW and saw the new layout.

It is fantastic. Much, much better in my opinion.

Best fan site on the web keeps improving.

And yes, the Live Forum crashed on me two games in a row. My poor wife had to listen to me comment on every little thing. Save my wife, please, and look into the crashing of the Live Forum.

God almighty, Dave, "I am in the process of getting a bank card", has to be one of my favourite comments ever on here!! Hope you and June and all the family are well. The memories of that great Easter Day will never leave me, nor that magnificent bus journey last year. Hope to see you soon. I was just looking through my programmes last night which brought it all back.

Michael and Lyndon, I thought my ToffeeWeb Patron thing renewed automatically. If it hasn't I will renew now. Unlike Dave, I have had a bank card for weeks.

Andy (25), hope you are okay and bearing up during these very strange and unique days, glad you enjoyed the last time we were together, lovely to see, for me, what a middle aged man looked like when he was ten, that was you waiting in Goodison Road, to walk round to the entrance in Gwladys Street with the start of the game minutes away, excited doesn't begin to describe the way you were.

Also the night you came over from Belfast to meet and greet Mike ( Gaynes) before a Derby game, you were not going to the game, on the Sunday, but to meet Mike and a few more Bluenoses, going home to Belfast the next day, I thought that was brilliant.

As for me getting a bank card, it's like waiting for a major operation, I hate change and don't trust these bank cards or anything modern, and the bank has phoned me recently to say my appointment, to sort it out, has been delayed because of the latest rules with the virus, does my bleedin' head in, wait ‘‘til they bring the cashless society in, I'll finish up in a straight jacket!! See you soon Andy, hopefully.

Thanks for all your work Lyndon. I really appreciate ToffeeWeb. Great that you've joined up with the Blue Room who are also excellent.

I was looking at some LFC fansites today (just because its was HILARIOUS) and I was struck about how awful their sites are compared to ToffeeWeb. Great job

Lyndon, I tried to pay a few euro via the 'Support TW' link just now but the 'Sign me up' link is not working. I'll email the error message I received. Enjoy the site but some of the negativity and abuse towards Everton players past and present and Everton staff by some posters is horrendous.

As a case in point, the lack of class displayed by the headline of the article criticising Theo Walcott contrasts greatly with his own positive comments about Everton FC. I'm not saying that players are above criticism, but one would be forgiven for thinking this was a Liverpool or anti-Everton site looking at that headline. We on ToffeeWeb should have higher standards. This negativity just forces people away from the site.

Still think ToffeeWeb is a brilliant resource for Evertonians. It always looks good and isn't cluttered like some websites.

Two wishes for me would be the ability to like other peoples' comments and it would be neat if each user, could see/find their own posted comments.

Keep up the great work!

It's all been fine recently save for a few ghost posts. Would still like an edit button after posting, when you have time.

It's a great site though, rare to see the standard. It's a big commitment for sure, so thanks again.

I'd second Craig's idea about finding your posts.

I'm sure it's age, but I'll actually post things, forget which article I've posted under, and then can't find the damn thing. It always concerns me if someone's replied and I look rude by not replying to the reply if warranted - if you get my meaning.

The edit button is like a waiter at a bad restaurant, it comes and goes as it pleases.

These are minor things. The site is superb. All these suggestions and notes to improve are simply the cherry on top of the sundae.
