Everton to refund fans for lost matches
Everton have offered to reimburse supporters for the remaining home games of the 2019-20 season which they will not be able to attend because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Premier League remains committed to completing the season at some stage once it has been deemed safe to do so but, like the German Bundesliga this weekend, it will almost certainly be to empty stadiums.
That means that supporters won't be allowed to attend games and Everton are the latest club to refund fans, offering them the option of being fully reimbursed, taking a credit for future ticket sales or donating the money to Everton In The Community.
A statement from the club said: "Everton has confirmed all fans with tickets for the club's remaining five home Premier League fixtures of the 2019/20 season will be able to claim a refund due to the increasing expectation that, should the remaining games be played, they will take place behind closed doors.
"Season Ticket Members will be entitled to a credit or refund on a pro-rata basis for the five games and will also be given the option to forgo part or all of their balance in order for the club to donate that amount in full over to Everton in the Community."
Hospitality Members will be contacted by the club to advise of the process and options available to them.
In addition, the club will be extending the deadline for signing up for season tickets for next season, with the new cut-off to be announced at a later date.

Interesting to see so many deadly accurate Hibbo crosses in the early years, then Bainesy late on... and a delightful reminder of the Odd Couple spring of 2009 when Timmy and Fellaini were the front pairing. God that was fun to watch.

That second overhead kick was better than the Rooney one that the media raved about for years.
He was known for his heart and determination but the lad had skill and class aplenty too.

Also, I seem to remember Hibbo providing 2 great crosses in the 4-4 at Old Trafford, one for Jelavic, one for Fellaini.

The other items I remember from that game are Fellaini's absolute dominance in the box -- he scored one and laid on two -- and Rooney not celebrating his two goals.

How will the club go about making refunds?

Jim #14, I could not see anything on that subject, possibly that may also be clearer after Wednesday.

I'll certainly consider giving some or all of the season ticket refund to EitC. I've probably saved that amount anyway in travel costs and beer and chips for 5 matches.

I got one asking me to choose one of the three given options by the 4th June.
Please tell us by Thursday 4 June how you'd like us to process your refund.
You can also call the Fan Centre on 0151 808 1254.

I too have experienced difficulty in finalising the refund procedure. I put in all my details but the system appeared to freeze in the final stage. Because my young lady and I have a joint account, I thought at first that I had entered the wrong information but, when I entered her details, I got the same result.
I tried to contact the club by phone without success, I waited patiently for 50 minutes before giving up. I'll try again on Tuesday, if the phones are not manned tomorrow.

The ones in question would not be 'lost' in the sense intended by the author, unless the season was declared null and void. There seems now no chance of that happening.
Ironically increasing the chance that they will be 'lost' in the other sense — unless Carlo has come up with some good stratagems for getting this rabble ramped up a notch or three and able to hold more than half a candle up to the Big Boys.
I live in hope, fear and trepidation.
