Feeney joins Tranmere on loan

Everton Under-23s defender Morgan Feeney has secured a move to Tranmere Rovers until the end of the season.

Along with Lewis Gibson, the skipper of David Unsworth's side is regarded as a long-term first-team prospect with the Blues and he is now ready to gain first-team experience elsewhere.

Gibson, meanwhile, is expected to sign an extension to his current contract that runs out this summer and then go out on loan himself to Fleetwood Town for the rest of the campaign.

Gibson is one youth player who was actively sought out and hasn't had the opportunity to get into the first team, he should be retained long term and given an opportunity as he will turn out to be a proper footballing centre-half if given the opportunity.

Good luck to both lads. It will be interesting to see how they fare at these clubs and hopefully come back better players for us to capitalise on.

Sounds like Tranmere needs someone who can band them in at the other end. Not really replaced Norwood, have they. This sounds like a good move, especially if he helps keep them up.

Pity they never had Vaughan and Feeney before the cup match last week against Man U - case of closing the stable door

Sad to say but it looks like Gbamin has become yet another crock and he has hardly kicked a ball. How is it Everton always get these guys ??
