How Everton came to be a club forever yearning for a new dawn

I totally agree, why publish an article by someone is so avertly the opposite to those of us who support the Blues. Obviously still rankles with him the joy we showed when we stopped his beloved Reds getting the 3 points at Goodison and thus preventing them from winning the league.

They call us bitter, but they hate every club in the Sky 6 except Arsenal and the reason for that is Arsenal are no threat to them. Were we quite naturally just dislike our neighbours.

But we have to ask the question with an owner who has poured in 𧹺 million since taking over why have we regressed.

We need to ensure that he's proved wrong over time.

The most concerning thing is Bramley Moore, because I was getting told off a very good source that Everton have been looking at new sites in Speke... this is very concerning news for me at the minute

He's not going to pick up any industry gongs or awards for the piece, but in broad brush strokes he describes Everton's plight with a legitimate comparison to Manchester's 'second club' and how they leapfrogged United to be #1 in their city.

The only contestable paragraph I read was this:

"Silva lacks the confidence of his players. The manager is exposed and before the Carabao Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday the Portuguese used phrases like “no one can hide” and “take responsibility.” These are the sort of words that signal serious division in the dressing room."

That is extremely speculative and his final sentence is an absurd conclusion to leap to.

The rest, as unpalatable as it reads for some, is (IMO) a fair and reasonable summation of our last decade compared to the rise of City.

I'm not sure on Silva right now, but I am sure that it wasn't Steve Walsh, who assembled Leicester's title winning team, but him and Koeman, definitely put Everton back at least three years, and this is why I hope Evertonians read this properly, and give the people in-charge a bit longer, even if they didn't want Silva in the first place.

My good source is a red, he could be at the wind-up, but he was saying that a certain reporter who works for the independent has been saying Everton have been looking at sites in Speke, which has nearly made me puke as much as that Liverpudlians article, hopefully it's the same journalist spouting the shite, or my mate is just taking the piss.

Let's hope Everton win tomorrow, and let's hope Liverpool, also come unstuck, a big price for the double, very unlikely to happen, but why do them bastards suddenly want Everton to win!?

Jay @9, I hope you're right and he's wrong about the players' (or some players') attitude to Silva.

As if they fuckin' care, they are terrified we are going to move there for the simple reason when we do we will have a much better chance of improving as a club and a team, nothing guaranteed, but the odds of improving are greatly increased.

Whatever state we are in, it is in our hands now to put it right. We have missed the boat in so many ways when Kenwright failed to sell the club at the right time, because his first condition for a sale was always he had to be chairman. What a clown.

We can only put our faith in Moshiri and hope the 'project' is a success, to be fair he's pumped a lot of money into Everton. Then again he's made a lot of mistakes with his managerial appointments and subsequent player signings. Keep the faith and hope we win some Silva ware, and I'm Silva's harshest critic, but a cup win would make him a hero.

Tomorrow, we hope that the team puts in a shift. Has Everton become scared of its own Shadow? I don't think so, the sole bearers of the club through era and eternity are the Evertonians, but tomorrow, after Tuesday, it's the time to put Man City into a place where they haven't been since we did them 4-0, and to date, in all competitions, Pep's worst aggregate defeat.

If it's the case, still, 3½ years on, then, that's a kind of solid teamness we lost sight of a long a time ago, when technology was different. The trains were different and life was different.

I'm liking your optimism, I just hope at least a few of our more important players are feeling the same way.

Win, lose or draw the Man City game, the more important one (for Silva) is the Burnley one and that's the one most will judge him on. I think a solid performance and win against Burnley will do much more for morale than a win against City at home.

We're always going to get up for City, but for Burnley?
