Everton launch new third strip

Everton have revealed the club's third kit for the 2019-20 season, a navy blue number with lighter blue detailing.

According the release from Everton and Umbro, the new change strip “draws influence from the ‘football smart' trend, with football shirts becoming part of fans' casual and lifestyle wear.”

The launch will give another chance for Evertonians to grab a limited-edition St. Domingo shirtzine. Volume 1 and 2 of the shirtzine were released with the new home and away kits earlier this summer, becoming collectors' items. The Shirtzine will also be available for fans to enjoy in digital format, across the Club's platforms.

Andre Gomes, who appears on the cover of Volume 3 of the St. Domingo Shirtzine said: “This kit is a classic, it looks really good and I think it will give us a presence on the pitch and one that is very wearable for the fans.”

The release goes on to describe the dark navy shirt as having “a stylised V neckline and drop-hems — a modern twist on kit collars from the 90s — with ‘dazzling blue' coloured stripes on the front neck as well as highlighted on the crest and sponsor detailing.

"The shirt is completed by ribbed sleeves, customised Umbro shattered diamonds across the shoulder panels and an ‘EFC' signature on the back of the neck, a feature from the Club's 1992-93 shirt which can also been seen on this season's home and away jerseys.

"Accompanying the jersey, the dark navy shorts feature black contrast side panelling along with a ‘dazzling blue' coloured crest. The socks complement the shirt and shorts and are dark navy with a black turnover, which integrates a cotton footbed and instep cool zone technology to improve breathability and comfort. "

Supporters can order the new third strip now by going online at evertondirect.com or visiting Everton One or Everton Two stores.

Great kit but surely if we can't wear our home kit against other teams away we can't wear this either ?

Kenny we've had navy kits before, they're different enough. I don't see any circumstance where we'll need a third kit though, given how different our first two are. However, I'm guessing we'll wear this navy one against Burnley, West Ham and Villa.

Don't be fooled by the blue lighting — I was in Everton Two today and it is black, lads and lasses, and looks good — best in a while.

I like it but a pity it's got SportPesa on it. A contract we need to get out of asap. We are a community club and how that company can be seen to share our values beats me.

Gomes and Mina look like male models. Mina hooking his thumb in his jeans pocket was a nice touch, LOL.

Should've worn it against Aston Villa today, oh well.

Great kit. Best for a few seasons. Simple, classy design. Its a dark navy colour so should not clash.

It should have been the basis for our home kit and leave the ugly 'criss-cross' for the experimental 3rd kit.

Now we need a team capable of playing of good, classy football.

Lots of work to do on the training field.

Whoever did the photography for this launch needs to give their head a wobble. The lighting is awful and I've no idea how this kit will look.

That was the only time Gomes looked good yesterday.

Might buy this shirt.

Surely they could have launched this two weeks ago so we could have worn it at Palace.

I agree on getting rid of SportPesa off our kits. I personally think all gambling advertising should be gotten rid of from all forms of media. Also, while we are at it, get rid of the Angry Birds as well, it looks embarrassing.

Nice kit but agree with Phil – I don't like the gambling ads.

... not that I'd buy the kit, mind! Too old for that and the prices are shocking!
