Muhamed Besic has gone out on loan again, this time to newly-promoted Sheffield United who will give him the opportunity to once more play in the Premier League.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international spent last season on loan in the Championship with Middlesbrough after recovering from a long-term injury.

He made 52 appearances for Boro but was ultimately not retained on a permanent basis, returning instead to Everton this summer.

Besic was not considered to be part of Marco Silva's first-team plans this season and he attracted attention from Sheffield and Fulham, who are bidding to return to the Premier League this season following their relegation in May.

Sheffield United won the race to sign Besic for the season which will be his penultimate as a contracted Everton player. Originally acquired by Roberto Martinez in 2014 after impressing at the World Cup in Brazil, he signed a two-year extension to his contract at Goodison Park two years ago.

Good to see us trimming the fat, but I would have liked to see some sort of option to buy/obligation to buy clause

Good luck Mo - play well and earn us some money in a transfer fee next summer. Last chance saloon time.

Probably the last we've seen Besic as an Everton player, as this loan should see out the remainder of his contract. Best of luck Mo!

Besic is a confirmed departure, and his contract expires at the end of the season, so he won't be seen in Royal Blue again.

Great attitude, just didn't quite have enough to make it into our first team plans, but I must admit I'm surprised it's taken so long for another prem side to take him.

Good luck Mo.

This is not Besic's last contract year. One more after this.

Getting to show case his skills in the prem may get us a few quid for him next season then if he has 2 years left.

My Blade son-in-law is delighted. His lad is called Mo (Maurice) so he only has to buy him 2 letters for the back of his shirt.
