Jonjoe Kenny made his Schalke debut in yesterday's 2-2 friendly draw in Wattenscheid, coming on for the last 15 minutes.

Kenny said. “I've enjoyed the first few days a lot and am looking forward to now getting to grips with everything,” stated the English defender, who played in the U21 European Championship.

“For Jonjoe it was important to wear the shirt and slowly get stuck in,” said Wagner. Kenny, who only came back from holiday two days prior to the game, said: “I'm happy that I got my first 15 minutes of gametime in and hope to get more minutes over the coming weeks and months.”

It is far more beneficial to Kenny going to Germany and a good sized club like Schalke than wasting away on our bench or in the Championship year in year out.

On a different note it's interesting to find out that Kurt Zouma has flown to Japan with Chelsea on their preseason tour, that's looking less likely by the day that move.

Three weeks remaining to sign Zouma (not likely) and a striker (even less likely at the mo).

It will probably take us two weeks to seal the Delph deal lol.

I hope Jonjoe Kenny becomes the player he should; we need a route to the first team for a few more of our high achievers from the youth set-up.
