Everton unveil 11 key principles for stadium move
Wednesday, 24 January, 2018Everton have unveiled the framework which will shape the club's future as it pertains to the proposed stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and the future of the location they will leave behind.
The club are pressing ahead with plans for a new ground on the banks of the Mersey in the historic north docks area of Liverpool, with a funding arrangement with the City Council set for discussion and a vote in the coming weeks.
In the interim, Chief Executive Robert Elstone has outlined 11 key principles which will guide the club as they move forward with the development of the new ground, the consultation phase with supporters, and plans for the legacy Everton will leave behind at Goodison Park.
The principles were put together following a survey of thousands of Evertonians and include a commitment to building an iconic landmark on the City's waterfront, which will become a fortress for the Club, as well as a pledge to continue serving the residents and the community of Liverpool 4.
Everton Chief Executive Robert Elstone said: “Our stadium should be built to meet the needs and expectations of the people that will use it; our players, our partners and, above all, our fans.
“To understand those views, we've aggregated what we've heard and what we've read to develop what we are calling our ‘Key Principles'. We'd like to share those principles, to test and amend — or refine them — and to use them to frame the ideas and expectations of our fans."
The club is inviting fans with a customer number to share their views on the Key Principles via an online survey. Supporters wishing to participatein the survey can click here. Surveys will need to be completed by 5pm on Friday 23 February.
