Koeman eyes veteran compatriot for central midfield

Everton have been linked with a move for Dutch international Wesley Sneijder as Ronald Koeman sets up his transfer targets for the summer.

The 32-year-old midfielder has long been talked about in terms of a move to England but he signed for Galatasaray three years ago when he was arguably at the peak of his powers.

Now, with the Turkish giants looking to offload some of their higher-paid stars and Sneijder looking to get away following a dispute with the club's management, a link-up with his compatriot Koeman at Goodison Park is being mooted.

According to Turkish-football.com, Sneijder would cost around €7.5m but would also command significant wages based on his reputedly high earnings in Turkey.
