Moshiri planning big backing for Champions League bid

Fresh reports suggesting that Everton plan to shatter their long-standing wage ceiling offer further evidence of new investor Farhad Moshiri's desire to put serious financial muscle behind the club.

Phil Kirkbride reports in the Liverpool Echo and The Mirror that the British-Iranian billionaire's money could allow the Blues to offer prospective signings as much as £100k a week after taxes which would entail pushing the team's top salaries towards £200k.

With a weekly salary of around £80,000, Romelu Lukaku is currently Everton's highest earner but these reported figures would dwarf the Belgian's wages and elevate the club onto a different financial playing field overnight.
