O'Neill is new bookies' favourite for Everton job

05/05/2016  0 Comment  [Jump to last]
Last week Joachim Löw emerged out of the blue as the hot choice to replace Roberto Martinez at Everton in the eyes of bookmakers Betfair, this week it's Martin O'Neill's turn.

The Belfast Telegraph claims that there has been "a rush of bets" on the Ireland manager succeeding Martinez at Goodison Park should the Catalan get the "Spanish Archer" from the Blues' board this summer.

The former Leicester and Aston Villa boss will be at the helm for the Republic at Euro2016 this summer and if he should exceed expectations at the tournament, the speculation is only likely to grow.

With his middling track record in the English Premier League, O'Neill would not be a popular choice among Evertonians, however – they have their eyes on bigger, more sophisticated fish.
