This piece by Andrew Flint glosses almost completely over the flying Ukrainian's time at Goodison Park but it provides some interesting insight into one of the first players from the former Soviet Union to succeed in England.

I remember literally (and figuratively) pinching myself after we signed him. In the playground kickabouts I finally had someone worth emulating. Up until that point I was Earl Barrett.
