Surkis rules out Yarmolenko sale to Everton

The Toffees came very close to landing the Ukrainian international in a £14.5m deal last summer but the move collapsed after Igor Surkis decided to keep Yarmolenko in Kiev for Dynamo's Champions League campaign.
Sergei Rebrov's side managed to make it out of the group stage but were eliminated by Manchester City and Yarmolenko, who signed a new contract in October to ensure his club got the best fee possible when he does move on, is back on the market.
Surkis is only interested in finding Yarmolenko a club either in or capable of challenging for qualification to the Champions League, with the player preferring either the Bundesliga or the English Premier League where Arsenal and Liverpool are credited with interest in his services. Bizarrely, however, the Dynamo supremo hasn't ruled out the 26-year-old making a lucrative move to China.
“If I get an offer that will suit Dynamo and Yarmolenko wants to go to this club, I'll let him," Surkis said. "All talk of a transfer will begin after the Euros."
“He is already a top player, so he should go to a top club. My position is that we should not let Yarmolenko go to such clubs as Everton and Stoke City. Dynamo is Dynamo and Stoke City is Stoke. We're playing in the Champions League, and Stoke City are fighting for survival.
“If we receive an offer that will suit the club and suit the player, no one will hold him back."

Think that ship long sailed, but for that tool owner for Dynamo to spout of his mouth putting us in the same sentence as 'Stoke' and 'fighting relegation' says it fecking all.

I'm hoping we don't sign him anyway. He's a RM target and hopefully we won't have RM after the Euro's!
4 Posted 02/05/2016 at 17:29:17
Money talks, and if we outbid any other team I think we could have a good chance to sign him.
Let's hope we have a new manager installed in the summer, because player's of his calibre is what we should be looking for.

I am sick and tired of hearing about this guy every few fucking weeks as though he's the next Messi or Ronaldo. Let him go and whore himself to some other club if that's what he wants

They can both fuck whoever else that doesn't want to come here and can't stop talking about it!

It's difficult to tell but some established prima donnas are just looking for the big money and then don't perform consistently and Yarmolenko seems that type to me.
21 Posted 02/05/2016 at 19:34:05
Surely it's the players decision where he wants to play. It's the Bosman era for better or worse. Unfortunately for us, I can't see it being a difficult decision for a player with no allegiance to decide on whether he wants to play for Martinez or Klopp. It will be sickening if he is a serious target for the RS. Another chance to gloat, like we haven't heard enough lately.
I really rate him, but it always seemed like he would be a luxury rather than necessity, having already got Deulofeu and Lennon in his primary position.

I hope that if he does sell him to some CL club he comes back and destroys them. Serve him right for being such an arsehole.

If I was in charge of recruitment I would go to this Surkis and say "£10m or nothing. You have 2 days to reply."
Then if we hear nothing positive, tell them to do one and sign Perisic - who is a better player anyway!

Unfortunately we don't even compete with Stoke!
That's why we are rumoured to be after Mark Hughes.
If you were Yarmolenko's agent, would you entertain Everton! Don't think so!!!

His reply (below) reminded me of a debate on TW last year.
"Cheers Eugene. Wasn't pretty today but who cares. You were right about Barton. Drove the team on at key times during the season. Been brilliant for us, and better behaved than the average Burnley fan."
I thought what a shame we didn't have anyone to drive us on when the going got tough (still no place for a 'jailbird' and I'm sure we're better off with a leader-free side of directionless mutes).
41 Posted 02/05/2016 at 22:26:05
One of the reasons our season has been so poor is the fact that we have Barkley and McCarthy in midfield – Ross has no strength of character and is slow and very lazy, Macca is a headless chicken who rarely passes the ball forwards, a mediocre championship player at best based on the last 2 seasons.

43 Posted 02/05/2016 at 23:06:19
Chuffed for Leicester, we are going nowhere fast, Martinez gone or not.
44 Posted 03/05/2016 at 00:30:53
Don't care how unpopular a signing it would have been to begin with. By October, Everton fans would have been singing Barton's name for all the right reasons. We have lots of 'footballers' on our books. What we don't have is a fighter. Someone our own players are scared of. He would have made a difference - and for everyone out there lamenting the fact that our players trot out platitudes to Martinez - well Barton wouldn't.
Do I like him personally? No. Have we needed a PLAYER like him? Probably not. Have we needed a PERSONALITY like him? Of course we have.

me,is with all the Sky Money that will be going around, most of the clubs ahead of us will have money to compete for any of the players we may want, and IMO these players may not wish to come to Everton with the poor season we have had.
This could become a problem if we loose the likes of Lukaku, Stones and Barkley.
I honesty believe that B.K.and this board don't realize how much damage Martinez has done to this club.
Pride comes before a fall, and we can not afford to fall any further.
48 Posted 03/05/2016 at 04:05:37
And if he has any more players to sell well I'm sure some potentially big clubs lke Burnley or Brighton would buy them. If Leicester can do it so can they.

We can replace Stones with Pennington, bring back Garbutt, move Baines into defensive midfield. Connolly cover for Coleman. McAleny in for Kone and McGeady.
Lukaku can go I can't even see the point of playing him anymore unless we go after the last 9 points on offer and get 9th. Big ask with the Foxes but lets at least give them a game.
Don't you get the feeling that Spurs and Everton are so alike... we just don't have that winning mentality.
55 Posted 03/05/2016 at 11:47:48
You said that Kenwright and the board don't appreciate the damage RM has done to the club. I have to take issue with that. I , like most others on here want to see Roberto on his way. However the person who has been accepting of the mediocrity in all aspects of the club is none other than Blue Bill. Until he leaves we shall remain a club with no direction.
I would love to know what Kenwright has sought to achieve during his tenure other than a place in the Premier League. Has there been any innovation? Any plan? Any...." where do we hope to be in 5 years" type thinking?
Under Johnson we built a new stand.... Okay it could have been a better design. We won a trophy.... I am old enough to know what silverware looks like. We set up a feeder club system with Home Farm in Ireland. In a word or two the board DID things.
This board, under the leadership of a true Evertonian, blah de blah de blah is as much use as tits on a bull. Oh hang on, I forgot about the Kings Dock. That went well.

We have a reputation in the East. So far we have bought McGeady and Niasse and other players from the East at ever-increasing costs...maybe they could get 㿊M off us for him.
61 Posted 04/05/2016 at 09:43:41
You are right, Kenwright has almost destroyed Everton by sitting there for 20 years doing absolutely nothing. It's down to Moshiri to save us now.
62 Posted 04/05/2016 at 10:06:24
When I heard about our new "investor" I was delighted thinking that Kenwright would be moved out to pasture. Sadly he is still here with his phenomenal "What a manager" style soundbites. He and Woods epitomise all that has been wrong with the club. They have kept us in the slow lane as slowly but surely lesser clubs pass us by, managed by people with vision and commitment. No wonder he wanted NSNO taken off the old badge.
Until Kenwright's influence is removed the club will continue to stagnate in the EPL or worse, his myopic support of Martinez may very well have us in a relegation battle next season regardless of the Moshiri millions.
63 Posted 04/05/2016 at 11:42:32
There have been rumours over the years that buyers, including the ones that bought City, have wanted to buy EFC, but they were scuppered because Kenwright insisted on remaining chairman. The indications are now that that was true.
64 Posted 04/05/2016 at 14:00:07
Why aren't the top clubs after him if he's so great?
66 Posted 04/05/2016 at 15:25:20
I don't know. I thought English Spring/Summer is supposed to be a very agreeable climate. Am I wrong?
67 Posted 04/05/2016 at 19:05:55
This twit is getting desperate to offload his star man, but this is insulting to us and Stoke. The whole non-story is boring.

I am fed up of hearing about this guy, too much baggage from his club, we should distance ourselves and say, stick him up your arse.

Have to agree with Howard to a point, though, because the players put up with this for way too long. It started with Eto'o and Distin carried the can. I'm no fan of Mirallas but why did he get a new contract if he wasn't really part of the managers plans?
I love good football, but I'm not so sure it's what we play. It's based on the individual doing his job properly but this is not always possible if you don't get enough help off a teammate.
Take the centre-backs, who never have any cover off the full-back, and look at the left-back, or centre-forward – the most isolated men on the pitch.
Our team might look good on paper but Martinez and his tactics fail to make us look good on the pitch.
