Feeney signs pro forms

Morgan Feeney has penned his first professional contract with Everton.

The 17-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract that ties him to the club until the end of the 2017-18 season.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling, something I’ve dreamed about my whole life,” he told evertonfc.com.

“I’ve been here since I was eight. It’s been a long journey and only recently, when I got my scholarship, it started to become more real, with competitive games and everything that comes with that.

“I didn’t even think I’d get a professional deal this year. My aim for this season was to start regularly for the Under-18s, so it’s amazing to be signing this contract.”

This is where we are going to miss Harold Mathews's input and knowledge.

Morgan Feeney has played for the U21s when he was 16, a Scouse centre-half who impressed whenever he played. I don't keep records of the posts on these threads but I think Harold did a short profile of this young boy, maybe some one on here can recall the post, it wasn't long ago.

Off another thread, Liam Walsh was sent off, playing for Yeovil Town, after 10 minutes last Saturday, over an off-the-ball incident. He was playing against Cambridge who had Ryan Ledson in their side, Cambridge won 3-0.

In another lower league game, Jonjoe Kenny was on the winning side playing for Oxford, who are now in a good position to gain promotion, Jonjoe has done well since going on loan, and he could also make an appearance at Wembley in the Johnstone Paint Cup Final.
