Reports suggest Howard will join Colorado in May

Citing multiple sources, ESPN are reporting that negotiations with the 36-year-old are nearly complete and that he will leave Everton in May for a fee of around £500,000.
The Blues' desire to be compensated for the final two years of Howard's contract is cited as one reason for the delay in getting a deal first mooted at the end of January over the line.
The USA international's personal demands are not believed to have been a factor according to ESPN's information – he will earn around $2m a year with the Rapids, considerably less than the figure quoted in tabloid stories last week.

I'm sure if Howard had been replaced two years ago, we could have achieved more.

I wish him well, no grudges from me.

Martinez has once again proven his incompetence. Tim was our number one keeper 4 weeks ago, when every 11-year-old upwards in the crowd knew he was finished 2 years ago, except our joke of a manager.
Martinez, once again, you have been found out; the new owner is watching and you have no time left.
13 Posted 27/02/2016 at 20:15:24
Good luck to him.

My worry was that he was going to kill this deal with excessive wage demands and become even more resented. Now he can have a testimonial and leave with his head held high.

If we can squeeze 𧺬,000 out of some poor sod it'll go towards the 'Other operating Costs'...

He's been a good keeper for us and always given his best. I hope he gets the send-off he deserves and people back down from their constant singling out of him, when in truth our overall defensive play has been to blame this season.
Nev and Martyn aside, we've had shite keepers in the Premier League and he's been a cut above.

Also his arrogant comments will stay on in my mind as one of the worst comments by any Everton player these last 10 years.

I can see this summer being an exciting one in terms of offloading players. Howard, Hibbert, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, MCGeady & hopefully Kone will all be moved on. I know that's a lot to let go but between them they've hardly played this season anyway so a balance of new signings (please Mr Moshiri) & a few youngsters coming in (Dowell, Williams, Davies, Ledson, Walsh) we'll be looking good.

I don't agree with the term "loyal servant" being used too often and this is nothing against Tim Howard who has been a good professional. In my view, a "loyal servant" would be someone who turned down better offers because of a loyalty to our club. There aren't too many about.
32 Posted 28/02/2016 at 12:24:28
He has always tried to do his best, and if that was not good enough, then it's the fault of management that we didn't have a top-class goalkeeper, and not the fault of Tim Howard. This continued abuse is unnecessary, and not the way true Evertonians should behave.

I only write this because the guy is leaving the club, just like you want. How hard is it to wish a ten-year player well as he goes out the door without ripping him?
36 Posted 28/02/2016 at 14:39:54
Whenever you come back in the future, I'm sure the vast majority will be very welcoming and deservedly so.

The difference is, Howard hasn't had strong defensive unit in front of him these last two seasons, which wasn't the case in the Moyes years. I mean 36 years old isn't even old for a goalie. Many keepers are at their peak in their mid-thirties.
40 Posted 28/02/2016 at 18:22:15
Nigel Martyn
Tim Howard
Richard Wright
Paul Gerrard
Steve Simonsen
Thomas Myhre
Two top class goalkeeper's in big Nev and Martyn (although we never got long enough with Martyn sadly).
Howard, at his best competent but belongs in the second bracket of goalies, possibly the best of that bunch.
Never a top class keeper though.

It's ironic that, while Mignolet made another of his blunders today, followed by a series of fantastic stops, yet he is still being blamed for 'losing us the cup' by practically all of their so-called loyal supporters, including the odious Carragher who conveniently forgot they were outplayed for most of the game before their comeuppance by another highly criticised 'keeper' such is the lot of the 'poor bloody shot-stopper' in today's cesspit called football.

Tim has been a solid keeper for us, often being in and around a top 5 in EPL keepers.
Tim should be forgiven for some stupid comments recently made, take it that most goalkeepers are at least a little bit nutty. He should be remembered as a success when he goes and be given the correct send off.
The main issue with fans and Tim is his last 18 months of service were he has been below par and in the bottom 5 for EPL goalkeepers.
The man who fans should blame for this is Martinez, as he is the man who kept playing Tim, dispite the fact he has been when under par.
I'd say now is the perfect time to move back home, good luck to you Tim.
44 Posted 29/02/2016 at 00:47:32
Anyhoo, thanks for your service Tim. It's time for you to go!
45 Posted 29/02/2016 at 00:58:42
So Bye Bye, American Pie you sometimes saved but you could never fly.
46 Posted 29/02/2016 at 03:30:52
Colorado have reached agreement with Howard
However, this would be MLB (not MLS), the Rockies (not the Rapids), and Sam Howard, a left-handed rookie pitcher (not Tim Howard).
Sorry couldn't resist, but it is a true headline.

Then again, this site also mentions:
"Chang-Beer is the current kit manufacturer of Everton."
Does anyone have an idea of his wages? 20k a week or something?
48 Posted 29/02/2016 at 12:24:44
I believe Howard always gave 100%; sadly this wasn't good enough. I for one wish him well and thank him for his loyal service to the club.
