Leeds boss pessimistic over Everton's McGeady

The Irish international has dropped out of Roberto Martinez's squad this season but is in need of first-team football to remain at the forefront of Martin O'Neill's side ahead of the Republic of Ireland's Euro2012 campaign and is reportedly considering offers ahead of the transfer deadline.
Blackburn Rovers were rumoured to be at the front of the queue for McGeady but Leeds manager, Steve Evans, has confirmed his interest in bringing the former Celtic player to Elland Road.
Evans admits, however, that there is competition from clubs in the Premier League for his signature that puts the Whites at a disadvantage.
"Speaking to Aiden's representatives, he may have options in the Premier League," Evans said in the Irish Mirror. "I do like Aiden McGeady but there has been no further chat with him in the last 10 days.
"But if he were to consider a Championship club then Leeds must be at the front of that thought process – we're the biggest, most outstanding club in the league. That doesn't mean we're top of the league but we're the big club that players look at.
"We will only bring in players who can improve us and are affordable and give us value for money. We have to spend our money wisely. I would like one more option in the wide area, someone who can play either side on any given day and I have one or two in mind."

Why are we giving this guy an option, he should have been sent out January 1st, like it or not.

For those on here who do seem to know what he earns and his reluctance to move or take a pay cut, why do you not post an article citing your sources?

The Celtic manager has said that McGeady is on 10 times the wages of what most of his team are on, so what that is take your pick...

I guess it will come down to balancing up what clubs are on offer and what wages they will pay. I don't think anyone is going to pay his full wages but if they pay a part of his wages then it will at least reduce our wages bill.

The fact he's hesitant over a loan / transfer and would rather bench warm than play says a lot.

Now that Lennon, Deulofeu and Cleverley were brought in, McGeady has rightly slipped way down the roster. That being said, I hope he transfers this window and does well.
