U18s draw with Sunderland

Everton's Under-18s ended a fantastic run of seven consecutive wins in when Sunderland held them to a 2-2 draw at Finch Farm on Saturday but they retain a three-point lead over Man City at the top of the U18 Premier League Northern Group table.

Steven Kinsella went close in the early going but was foiled brilliantly by the Sunderland keeper before Delial Brewster and Michael Donohue also went close.

Morgan Feeney headed home Spencer Myers corner just before half-time, though, to send the young Blues into the interval a goal to the good.

Shayne Lavery converted from close range after good work by Brewster to make it 2-0 and put Everton on course for another victory. Sunderland plundered two goals late on, however, to grab a point and bring to an end that run of straight wins.

Everton U18s: OLoughlin, Yates, Myers, Yarney, Feeney, Bainbridge (c), Donohue, Kiersey, Brewster, Lavery, Kinsella
Subs: Jones, Lees, Harrington, Morris.

I've been reading good things about Brewster, has anyone got any first hand information on the lad?

I've only seen the odd highlight, Anthony, plus a club interview where he said his strong points were pace and scoring goals. A big strong tough lad, I think an injury put him out for a while but he seems to be having a good season.

Yeah Harrold, I've gathered something similar in my own views. I've seen one or two of his goals plus I'm aware he started last season with a bang before getting injured. Before all of that, I'd heard nothing about him and it was almost as though he had come from nowhere.

Anyways hopefully he's a prospect as we're far from blessed in the ways of striking talent (out-and-out forward-wise) after big Rom.
