Deulofeu on fire for Spain U21s

The Everton star has been in increasingly influential form for the Blues this season but has been outstanding for his country's U21s lately.
Deulofeu captained his country's side today in the Euro2017 qualifier but elsewhere in the same competition Brendan Galloway was forced to wait longer for his England U21 debut. He was sidelined by a muscle injury and remains a doubt for the next match on Monday.
Meanwhile, Ryan Ledson was on the scoresheet for England U19s in their 2-2 draw with the Netherlands.

There are 2 types of top quality youngsters, those who definitely have talent, play to a high standard yet have relatively 'moderate' stats. Then there are players who = goals. This lad is of the latter category. If he plays well, the team scores. He may go missing, and he he doesn't play well he will get stick, which is something those of the former category are usually free from.
But this lad = goals, and not since Kanchelskis have we had a player of this category.
Even when he was poor and then dropped for Sevilla last year he got 10+ assists.
If we get some cash, I'd say buying out this lad's 'buy-back' clause should be a priority. He'll be a 40 million pound player in 2 years.

One of the benefits of being on the Premier League gravy train is possessing and hopefully being able to retain elite young talents like him and Lukaku. Along with Barkley and Stones that's surely 4 of around the top 20 young players in Europe we've got playing for us?
The year the PL formed our young players were, with all due respect to them especially the former, the likes of David Unsworth, Stuart Barlow and Jon O'Connor.
Diving aside I feel proud to have a player like Deulofeu representing Everton.

He has obviously worked very hard on the training ground, has listened to the coaches, upped his workrate and added quite a bit to his repertoire. A good signing indeed.

However when Barca has buy-back and they come calling, you never know. Hopefully he's done with their loans and lack of playing time and we can keep him without breaking the bank.

Lallana and Markovic a combined: £40 million.

Anyone got the details of this buy-back option?

I know Everton have to accept the offer from Barcelona but what if he wants to stay here? I know he is a Catalan and loves Barcelona... But maybe he has seen that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and that we are a good fit for him.

There's no room for him at Barca right now in a couple of years maybe.
Talking of Barca, interesting that Pique chose John Stones in his dream 11 I wonder if that might be a more likely destination than Chelsea one day.
Now if we could find somebody for the left wing!

No, it's up to the lad if he wants to leave. Hard to imagine him resisting though, sadly.

Fans on here sometimes frustrate me with seemingly just wanting hard working types (Drones) who run all over the place but never score. For the first time in ages we now have some players who other clubs want to buy for decent money.
In January I want us to pay for a top playmaker and a young, confident, big goalkeeper who can command his 6 yard box. The defenders in front of him will gain confidence and the same can be said of our front men if they have a player to knit the side together and make us a threat from all over the pitch. This will take pressure off Lukaku and this lad will blossom.

Even if he does nothing all game, he has to be on so he can have that 30 seconds of genius that will win the match.

Unfortunately he will he will now be a 'marked man' and targeted as a result by the bully boys in the game which will not be in his best interests if every time they hit him he is accused of diving. Only time will tell...

"As per the official Everton website, a buy-back clause is included in the contract and can be activated if Barcelona meet 'certain requirements'. The numbers of those requirements have yet to be made official. The buy-back clause is only active for the first two seasons of Deulofeu's contract. Barcelona also have a right of first refusal if Everton decide to sell the player."
Don't know what "requirements" means. Cash? Anyone found something else?
Factors regarding this kid:
1. Does he actually keep developing?
2. Barcelona can sign any attacking talent. They don't really NEED to bring Delboy back
3. Given that Evertonians are the only big-club supporters to openly support him, will he want to go back?
4. He might want to go back...
5. He might not want to go back, which presents another "requirement" for Barca to deal with (in addition to 2 above).
5. Will Roberto allow an all-out attacking system that lets the youngster best express himself?
Lot of "ifs"... But I could see him staying.

Ross seems to have taken lead responsibility for free kicks but he usually fails to hit the target. Even before his injury Baines seemed to have lost the knack: his last goals from free kicks were at West Ham in September 2013.

Does anyone seriously think that a player of his ability would have landed at Everton without the influence of Martinez?
43 Posted 15/11/2015 at 15:11:09
I believe Barca knew exactly what they were doing insisting on the buy-back clause. Instead of a potentially problematic loan deal to somebody, they sell him to a club he wants to be at on the cheap; then, when (or if) he fully develops, they buy him back on the cheap.
Well done Barca, very clever!
I suppose there's always a chance he could turn them down if they come calling? (Fat chance eh!?)
