I know that we go to the game but for those of us abroad it´s a big deal.

The problem with this competition for us is the two-legged ties; once you draw a Chelsea or Man City at that stage, it can spell trouble, especially as they are taking this tournament very seriously.
That said, you can never guess what may happen next round, or how the Champions League or any injuries may effect teams. On current form, we still have a chance against anyone.
Going off us and onto the RedShite, I can't help but smile a little that they sneaked through, I wouldn't want these yanks pushing the boat out for a new manager whilst Anchelloti and Klopp are sniffing around for a job.

We need to win this thing.

That is 6 of last season's top 7, plus this years surprise package, plus us.
We really need to see a few giant killings in the next round... starting with Bournemouth!
13 Posted 24/09/2015 at 03:00:23
If we play to our strengths and the Goodison roar is in full voice then we can win. I wonder if our lovable manager will tinker with team and tactics.
14 Posted 24/09/2015 at 04:22:59
But getting a Sky 4 team in the final, then I do fancy our chances.

ps: Are the ties really two-legged from now on? It's so long since we made the 4th round, I can't remember!

I don't get to many games as I am based in South but I did get to Brentford and Fulham in the cup matches a few years ago. I decided against going to the Reading match and, when I saw we were one down, I thought of those defeats. However, this time assumed we would win. I had the same feeling when 2 down to Barnsley.

I was a bit gutted that the RS won on penalties again. Rodgers staying there is good for the derby though. We don't want them getting a bounce because they've got a new manager.
I know RM is not perfect but all those people who said we should have got Steve McLaren should be careful what they wish for.

The next month will tell us a lot about this present Everton team, and without wanting to get ahead of ourselves, I do believe this could be a good season for us.
The league is where the money is now, but I think in all my years of watching Everton, it's usually the cups that bring the most excitement to the fans.
Who doesn't want to be running round Wembley with the cup?

Premier League opponents should mean a fairly full strength team by Bobby... hopefully.

But we need to go strong. No tinkering. No resting players (the season has only started). We need to field our strongest eleven. Put this game to bed. No excuses. It is about time we made a proper effort to win this cup. And it is a bloody disgrace that we have not already managed to do so.
Our so-called second string are not up to winning anything. Would you trust them? Cause I don't. And by second string, I mean the older players. Ossie, Pienaar, Hibbert, McGeady.
And I also don't like this three at the back nonsense. With wingers playing as wingbacks. When has that ever worked for Everton? Ditch that set up, pronto.
Let's go strong. A 4-4-2 would suit me. Beat Norwich. Keep the same eleven going in the league. Get Lukaku back scoring. (Although right now, I don't know how). I hope that he can play through his lean spell. His goals can make the difference. And go for Charlie Austin in January. Options, options, options.
I am actually warming to Martinez this season. All it takes is a few wins. Cause it is really all about Everton FC winning football matches. And Gareth Barry is also starting to show some form. When everyone decides to turn up on the same day, I think that we actually have a serious team on our hands.

Easy when you dream it.

No Thursday night European football this season. So nobody should be tired. So lets give this cup a proper go.
And I never worry about the "Sky Four". Hopefully they cut each other's throats. And we come through under the radar. Believe.
And how about a proper FA Cup run as well this year? Let's rock and roll.

Everton is the priority, not England.

"Everton have announced their ticket prices for the Capital One Cup tie against Norwich next month.
And under-16s will be able to watch the game on Tuesday, October 27 (7:45pm kick-off) for only a fiver.
Tickets for season ticket holders are 㾻 for adults and 㾶 for over-65s, while non-season ticket holders can but tickets for 㾾 for adults and 㾹 for over-65s.
Now there's no excuse for Goodison not to be full with Wembley drawing closer..."
A very good idea to try and entice a few more youngsters into Goodison and who knows... it may spawn a few who will become lifetime supporters.

I've watched us win, lose, draw and what felt like every other possible outcome in this competition for over 40 years and never once believed we would end up the winners.
If we did win it, I would die of shock... but what a way to go.
40 Posted 24/09/2015 at 22:17:53
Norwich next is a bonus just being in the competition! Can we dare to dream winning a cup this season? Time for bed!

As for Liverpool's game with Bournemouth, I can't see Rodgers being in charge for that game because apparently he has 3 games to save his job, Villa, Sion and the Derby.
So potentially we could finish him off like we did to Moyes although obviously I'd love him to get a new 5-year contract!
43 Posted 25/09/2015 at 03:57:42
Of course, it's always good to be fired up knowing that it's one step closer to the cup. However, some players freeze at the big moments. Many players cope by not letting the occasion get to them, but telling themselves that it's another game.
I'm not sure what is the mental strength of our team; I don't think they are that experienced under all kinds of pressure. So the best thing is to take each game at a time. We can take them!
I hope by the time we play the bigger teams in the later rounds, we won't be just an underdog. It's one thing to be under the radar, not given any pressure to succeed; it's another to live up to expectations. That's the mark of champions and winners.
If we want to have that kind of season that we are hoping for, top 4 placement, then by the time the later rounds come on, and we are still in it, we won't be seen as an underdog anymore. We'll be seen as contenders, and here's hoping for cups and top 4 by the end of the season!

Still, it's a home tie, so no complaints here. The only team we need be worried about is Man City, who played most of their big guns. The others, well we just need to hope we put in a performance to match Norwich and the rest.

Took 93 minutes for WHU to score the equalizer.
