McGeady out of Singapore trip with injury

The 29-year-old missed a large portion of the second half of last season through injury and Roberto Martinez reports that he is the first fresh injury concern of the summer.
“Aiden has been suffering from a hamstring problem that affected him last season and it affected him when he was with the national team," the manager says on evertonfc.com.
“We need to get down to the root of the problem and make sure that he gets pain free.”
The Irishman's place in the squad for Swindon and the Far East will be taken by Under-21s regular Jonjoe Kenny. Darron Gibson, Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo are the other three players who will remain behind at Finch Farm to continue their rehabilitation from their respective injuries.

Is it something to do with the fitness regime? Not knowing other Clubs' stats did they suffer more or as equal to what we did?

The signing of McGeady is now starting to remind me of Peter Beagrie's second spell at Everton under Howard Kendall.
You just sit there and ask yourself what really was the point?

The Burnley manager said it could never happen to them because they keep things under control. Don't know what he meant but we need to try it.

Weaker managers with weaker players make up for it with extreme physical exertion -- or in our case extreme physical relaxation -- and so break down with injuries. Good ones find a decent balance.

Of course, there's Pienaar, who I truly hope can put his injuries behind him and get back on track.
McGeady isn't a great player and I'm all for getting rid if he is replaced. I just don't want us to be in the situation we were last year with Naismith, Barkley and Osman all being asked to fill in on the left wing where they're clearly not comfortable.

I couldn't agree more, in fact I pointed out them players on a recent post on here. I also threw Oviedo and Kone into that group, which may be harsh but, hey, while we're being ruthless, then why not.

Mirallas 'can play left wing'
Deulofeu 'can play left wing'
Osman 'can play left wing'
Barkley 'can play left wing'
Naismith 'can play left wing'
Cleverley 'can play left wing'
I don't want to go into the season with Pienaar the only specialist left midfielder. I don't think 'so-and-so can do a job there' is an appropriate way to go into the season.

Also non of our players supporting Lukaku can score with their head.
I hope last season was a weird blip and that we meet our potential this year. Oh Barkley, you need to be our savior.

I expect we'll be paying his wages for a while yet.
I don't really see the point of having both him and Lennon. Sadly, I assume this means no Lennon!

I think the club are being a bit cute and making sure he is available for transfer.

The left side is our main problem. No left midfield in front of Baines because Barry drifts inside to cover the CBs. Mirallas doesn't track back to stop people banging over crosses. (Didn't Kane nod one of these things in?)
Jags tends to hug the middle, leaving Baines stranded like a sitting duck and often having to deal with two attackers. No wonder he can't get forward. Different story with Coleman. McCarthy is over there to help out. When Lennon played, he also helped out.
This could be sorted overnight if we brought in a left midfield similar to Delph to cover left and middle. Barry's legs won't do both jobs. In time, I guess Besic will do it. He says he's training for the Number 6 role and that's it.

I've never been happy with McGeady and if we can move him on I think it would be best for the club and the player. That said if we want to move him on we need him fit.
I completely agree with the points on hamstring injury situation at the club, clearly there's an issue and it concerns me. Clearly it's a training and recoup issue.
