Stones-to-Chelsea rumour revamped

30/06/2015  Comments (0)  jump

The Evening Standard is revamping a story from early in May to maintain the Stones-to-Chelsea rumour, saying Everton value the young England star at 20m.

The journalist, Simon Johnson, acknowledges that Everton are attempting to keep their prize asset at all costs, saying he 21-year-old, who joined Everton for just 3m from Barnsley in 2013, will not come cheap.

Everton have placed a minimum 20m valuation on his head, even though he has only 38 Premier League starts to his name. But the timing of the story seems driven by new Real Madrid manger Rafa Benitez promising Rapahel Varane first-team football.
