Martinez 'preparing €13m bid for Cerci'

 Comments (33)  jump
Citing Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Football Italia reports that Everton are preparing a €13m bid for Torino winger Alessio Cerci.

The report suggests that the Blues would face obstacles in their pursuit of the 26 year-old, though, as Torino would be looking for a bigger fee and Cerci favours moving to a Champions League team.

The Blues also continue to be linked with a loan move for Barcelona's Cristian Tello in the Spanish press.

Cerci would be a great get, I follow Serie A pretty closely, this guy is good.

Not related to this story but Bony's agent has said that Bony will only go to a top six team - I wonder.

Torino have a couple of others. Immobile and Darmian look very decent as well.

How do you "prepare" a bid? Do you have your master scribes spend hours writing it out on a piece of parchment?

2 Patrick - I bet he would go to Man U if they wanted him!

Ian ... I don't know about Immobile but I like the look of the Croatian lad, Static.

Immobile as gone to Dortmund Ian, for just over £15m! A snip!

Di Marzio knows a thing or two when it comes to Italian transfers so could be something in it or it could just be rehashed speculation from last summer or two summers ago should I say as we was linked to Cerci under Moyes, and cos Bobby wants a winger, people are linking us to everyone to replace Deulofeu when in fact Deulofeu could still return?!

And I'd be very happy with Bony Patrick if we don't pull of the permanent signing or Lukaku, and tbh I don't think we will, apparently Juve are well interested and let's face it, he isn't gonna knock them back for us is he!

Bony would a be a great plan B. But back to Cerci, he would be a good signing, paced, got skills, can play left or right but we'll see what unfolds aye.

Immobile is a good finisher, but we need someone who puts himself about more...
I'm here all week.

Quite right Conor and that lesser known Bosnian, Static has the same problem.

Cerci from game of thrones looks a player.

Terrible Patrick. All jokes aside though I think we were linked with Cerci last year. Looks useful but our number 1 & 2 priorities are Lukaku and Barry respectively so any talk of other targets on this level are plain bullshit. We have two targets. Lets see what happens there.

Immobile has signed for Dortmund for €15m. Like the look of Cerci, though.

Re: Torino players; I was in Turin a few years ago on a coach, when we passed a huge, state of the art sports stadium. Everyone was taking photos, saying: 'Wow, isn't Juventus impressive'; then the coach driver said: 'Sorry, folks, but that ground is Torino .... Juventus is the little one over there!'

In fact, Torino's official name is: 'il Gran Torino'.

Shame on you Patrick!
I was going to ask Conor who Immobile played for?

Has Immobile not just signed for Dortmund?

No, that's Still, Shane.

He plays for Italy, Ray. Saw him score a hat-trick for them last week in a friendly against Corintians. Cool finisher but no movement.

He would be an amazing signing but I'll stick this in the dream on category.

I doubt we could afford him. The priority is obviously Lukaku judging by what BK was spouting. That will be £20m which won't leave much of a kitty left if anything. More likely to see a Hazard or Atsu on loan.

Cerci, huh? That name has a bit of a connotation for some of us. If he isn't an incestuous tramp, I'll take him.

I just read over the thread. Looke like Colin beat me to the Game of Thrones reference. Well played, sir.

Nicholas 549. Cool made-up story, but they share a stadium, so you're telling lies.

Cerci ain't happening, neither is Immobile.

Sorry Christopher but they haven't shared a stadium since 2011 when Juve moved out of the Olimpico into the "Juventus stadium" on the old site of the Delle Alpi.

Just read Martinez's comments on Lukaku and Atletico Madrid, so I think it's certain that, regardless of how he performs in the World Cup for Belgium, we won't be seeing him again next season.

Some big holes to be filled in the squad now, but I have complete faith in Martinez's moves in the market. We'll still have our core; Baines, Stones, Barkley, Coleman, McCarthy, which is all that matters!

If we miss out on Cerci, how about signing Tyrion? Determined midfield schemer, low centre of gravity, always pays his debts - he could do a job for us.

I think Tyrion might be a bit short of match practice!!

Dean, that's where his trickery comes in. He's good at the game!

Ron, best line so far!
