Everton have asked about winger Perisic

 Comments (12)  jump
Today's mandatory Everton link for incoming transfers is Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, who might cost £8M from Wolfsburg — so claims the Daily Mail.

Everton have supposedly spoken to Wolfsburg about a potential move for the 25-year-old and Everton scouts have reportedly watched him closely in the Bundesliga. Perisic only joined Wolfsburg from Dortmund 18 months ago but they are looking at strengthening in other areas and will weigh up the strength of any Everton bid.

Perisic can play on the wing, as an attacking midfielder or as a second striker. He is quick, has good technique and gets goals, often spectacular, and is comfortable on the right or left.

Update According to Sport Review on 22 June, the player's agent Toni Martic told that there is contact between his representatives and Napoli regarding a possible move to Serie A.

Martic travelled to Milan on 24th June but refused to confirm which club's representatives he met.

"If you sit by the river long enough, in time all your enemies will float by" - I think it's a proverb from Tunisia or somewhere else.

If you link Everton with a sufficient number of players, in time one of them will be correct. This seems to be the approach of the modern journo.

It may be my imagination, but pre-Sky and agents, press transfer rumours seemed to have more substance to them. I guess now the agents, operating in their parochial self-interest, whisper sweet nothings in journos' ears, and these pellets of crap get rugirgatated in the press.

In the last month, we've been linked with more players than the entire cast of Coronation Street, since its beginning.

Tony #494 "If you sit by the river long enough, in time all your enemies will float by".

Must try that sitting on the banks of the royal blue Mersey, looking out for a pair of buck teeth protruding from said river.

Whoever said the quality of Mersey is not strained...

Brent – and as the waves crashed to the shore, you would then see the buck teeth held tightly in the mouth of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Aren't Wolfsburg the new PSG, rs, Monaco, or Real Madrid? Because according to the rags they are linked to every Tom, dick and Harry around. I don't know where they've got all their money from.

We already have this player profile, he's call Mirallas.

Perisic is decent and it's good that we're being linked to some good players cos these are the standard of player we need to gradually take the next step and be full time, genuine CL contenders!

Didn't have the best of times at Dortmund but as played well at Wolfsburg and for Croatia and I thought he played really well against Brazil. He's got pace, he can beat a man and he grafts.

I know we're not going to sign every player were linked to but the calibre of player we are getting linked to excites me, the likes of Martins-Indi, de Vrij, Perisic, Cerci, Ziyech, Lukaku...

Tony (#512), Mirallas prefers to play on the right whilst Perisic's preferred flank is the left one. Although the Croat surely has mixed feelings about his Dortmund days, he has kind of rediscovered himself and is a good goal threat from the left. If Wolfsburg are happy to see him go for about £10m, I'd go for him as well as for Ziyech.

I really would like to see us go for Hublot... he made some impressive performances when he has come on as substitute.

Looks a very useful player but surely the bulk of our money will be going on a striker or two. And a central midfielder.

Perisic can play both wings and striker. Three players in one. £8mill is a steal, mate.
