MOST protracted and uninteresting transfer saga ever? Surely someone would pay alittle more than £1.5m more for Yobo, he's not much worse than Distin who came to us for £5m at the same age.
On another note Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith have turned down contract at new Rangers and are now on free transfers. With our limited resources I think we could do worse...

It's not ideal but it's enough cash in my opinion to get the deal done. Get 2m in and have some money to hand to start getting some deals of our own completed. I know 2m isn't enough on it's own but at least it's a start.
The deal could drag on for ever otherwise and we may end up sendinghim out on loan again.

I would agree with the idea of getting some free transfers in early Sam. If there were to be any signing on fees involved at least the Yobo money would make the difference in us getting the player in over some other club.
Cant wait for this to be sorted. To be fair, its £1.5m for a player who has contributed nothing for two seasons now. He's a decent footballer and we should sell him or play him, we are in no situation to be loaning salable assets out when we need money!
Naismith is an interesting one, could be a fit to play off Jelavic or wide right? A free transfer for a player we've bin linked with paying a couple of million for not long ago cant be too bad.
I agree, Sam.Naismith is apparently a little injury prone but I think he would be an asset to our squad. This could be another example of the value of David Weir.
Its the only offer (that I'm aware of) that we've had in 2 years. Take it.
Don't listen to those who think we should be getting £3m+...
How much were the loan fees? If they were say £1m each it isn't too bad overall. The issue was always the 5 year deal at crazy wages.
I've posted on the other thread that they should be squeezed a bit but really I think this should be what we accept and be done with it.
Sam, Distin is a hundred times the player Yobo is. Distin is one of Moyes's best signings he has done and to compare the two is an insult to Distin.
