Start Praying and saving your pennies

Comments (27)

What you doing in May 2013?

Me, well I am about to get my big Bells bottle out the spare room and start saving my pennies and pounds in the off chance that Everton make it to the Champions League final to be held at Wembely for the second time in 2 years to mark the FA's 150th birthday!!

Now the only thing in the way is for Bill Kenwright to pull his finger out, sell the club, and the new owners to splash the cash so David Moyes can put together the sort of team we need to get us first in the top 4 next year and then into the final the year after!!...

Oh well we can all dream!!!!

Maybe BK will get HIS big Bell's bottle out of his spare room and give the contents to Moyes as the transfer budget?

I`m glad to know that if Bill ever does sell out it will only be to someone who can fulfil his dream for Everton as well as ours!

I thougt that...... " Praying & saving your pennies" was Everton's business plan, under this regieme !

Can't see our current transfer pot of: 17 pence, & 12 euro cents getting us back into Europe though.

Hey it's summer, I'll go along with it.

Ok, let's say Bill has sold us to Sheikh Ratel Anroll and money is unlimited.

What is our team to face (and whup) Barcelona in the final?

(nb: we tried for Messi, he wasn't interested)

"Start praying and saving your pennies"

Is this the Club's new motto ?

What does it translate like into Latin ?

I know some on this site won't like it but I prefer it to alternatives such as "Freak out and panic"

How do you know that Richard?
Did he tell you himself?
He didn't happen to mention how much he wants for the club as well did he?

It's a very apt new moto seeing that Bigus Dickus or Incontinentia Buttocks blew all our money on crap players.

With agents fees at 3.5 million a year for buying nobody we cant afford a bottle of Bells let alone a loan or free transfer signing.

Doddy I have to say Kenwright would sell his soul for 30 pieces of silver it's just that he bit off more than he could chew with Earl and Green who are not the mugs that Paul and Anita Gregg were.

Are you suggesting that Green has an ongoing financial interest -and say- in Everton`s affairs. He has denied it many times and Bill says he`s `just a friend he consults occasionally`.

"Incipe Orare et Denarios Conservare"

Purists might argue that 'denarius' is a bit too Classical for 'penny' but if it was good enough for mediaeval monks (probably the nearest soul brothers of a modern-day Evertonian) it's good enough for me.

Anybody care to design a crest..............?

Doddy #22 Billy Bullshitter says a lot of things usually lying through his arse, I don't really need to mention he's been doing it for the best part of twelve years or list the major ones but to say Green doesn't have some sort of control is a bit naive; BCR Sports (Earl's source of funds to buyout Gregg quite possibly Green's money), DK heavily linked to the property scam there, Wyness' departure and meeting on his yatch, it certainly wasn't Earl's boat as I'm not sure he actually owns one, and why did a supposed non director and "friend of the club" get involved heavily with the sale of Wayne Rooney?

Nothing but speculation and rumour,Gavram. You have been peddling these conspiracy theories for ever without a shred of clear evidence.I believe the truth is much simpler.BB is a good, honest chairman but lacks the funds to see us challenge for top honours. In the meantime, he keeps the lid on things so that we`re there, year on year,to be absolutely as high as we can afford.
But even if you are right about Green`s involvement,so-bloody-what?
How does that detract from Everton`s financial position?

Doddy - rumours? try looking up financial websites at the time that clearly state Green as the driving force behind BCR sports as the R sports but suddenly uses it to buy 23% of the club? Green was heavily involved in the Rooney transfer as quoted again in many publications at the time yet is just "a friend of the club", read the transcripts from Desperation Kirkby and especially the cross examination about the land valuation and the uneasy lack of response when questioned over and over for an explanation. Given Green barely pays taxes in the UK through a slimy loophole claiming the business is his wife's who isn't a mainland resident I'm pretty sure if any of these didn't have any grounds then the publications posting them back then would have met costly legal challenges, funnily enough not one did. I don't peddle this stuff Doddy I look it up and decide for myself what is plausible and reported through reasonable media routes and what's just speculation.

Billy Bullshitter isn't a good chairman - explain how exactly and use examplkes of his peers if you like

Billy Bullshitter isn't honest - explain how and put on a tin helmet for the responses

Green's involvement in the club is pertinent if it is causing problems with Billy Bullshitter's endless fairytale of investment/new buyer/whatever fantasy he is running with on a particular day of the week - who is calling the shots at Everton and why is Green involved at all if Black Bill is the major shareholder unless he is deeply beholden to him i.e. BCR Sports owning 23% of the club

should read in that odd R sports bit that Earl hasn't used it before but suddenly uses it as a method to buy 23% of Everton
