Delay was over Lescott's knee

Apparently, Lescott has sent back to see the specialist, who is 50/50 on giving the move his blessing. Everton asked to see the two Wolves scans he had on his knee last season since his injury to see if there has been any deterioration following the full season he put in. Apparently, if these scans showed no deterioration, then Everton would go ahead with the move at the agreed fee.

Samaras staying in Holland

It doesn't look as though Georgios Samaras will be joining Manchester City ? or even Everton for that matter ? in this transfer window. According to the website of Dutch paper De Telegraaf, an arbitration committee has decided that unless Heerenveen's asking price of ?10M (?6.87M) is met, the Greek striker will stay at the club until the summer, at least. City are reported to have bid between ?5M and ?7M. There is no mention of Everton.

The media has had striker Peter Lovenkrands poised at the Ibrox exit door since last summer, and with the Dane stalling on a new contract at Rangers, he is attracting the interest of the likes of Steve Bruce and, according to Sporting Life, David Moyes.

Frankly, the 26 year-old is by far a more appetising prospect than the likes of Robert Earnshaw and Lee Trundle, but we'll have to wait and see...
